  • Thomas Partey's recent trip back home to Ghana for the World Cup playoffs saw him bump into his lookalike
  • The midfielder's teammate Daniel-Kofi Kyereh shared a hilarious clip of the duo's meeting, with many struggling to tell the difference
  • Partey's doppelganger has a scarily similar face shape, haircut, beard and smile like that of the Arsenal star
  • While it is a little difficult to distinguish the two, the only noticeable difference was that the lookalike is a few inches shorter than the original Partey

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey left his teammates confused while on international duty after he met a man looking exactly like him.

Partey recently linked up with his Ghana national team and was part of the squad for their crunch World Cup play-off with rivals Nigeria.

And ahead of the Friday, March 25, showdown, Partey’s team-mate Daniel-Kofi Kyereh shared a video on Instagram of the Arsenal midfielder meeting a yet to be identified man who bears a striking resemblance to the former Atletico Madrid ace.

Thomas Partey enjoys fun moments with his doppelganger

In the short clip, the original Partey who was in a Ghana training kit can be seen wrapping his arm around the lookalike who has a scarily similar face shape, haircut, beard and smile like that of the Arsenal star.

Perhaps the only noticeable difference between the duo was that the unknown "twin" is a few inches shorter than the original Partey.

The pair's striking resemblance left Partey's teammates confused as they laughed hysterically behind the cameras.

In his caption of the video, Kofi Kyereh nicknamed the doppelganger "Thomas After Partey" in a top-class quip.

How fans reacted to Partey meeting his lookalike

Meanwhile, Partey's meeting with his lookalike sent fans into a meltdown, with many admitting they struggled to tell the midfielder from the doppelganger.

One wrote:

"Nah this guy looks more like Thomas than Thomas."

Another wondered:

"How is it even possible?"

Ghana hold first training ahead of Nigeria showdown

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the Black Stars of Ghana have held their maiden training session at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium ahead of tomorrow's crunch return leg.

The senior men's national team arrived in Abuja earlier today and have gone straight to business as they seek to beat Nigeria in their own backyard.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, players of the Black Stars were taken through their paces by the four-man technical team led by interim manager Otto Addo.
