Mesut Ozil recently caught the eye of online users after he blatantly refused to say his former club Arsenal’s name in a Tiktok video.
Ozil was a record signing when he joined Arsenal for £42.5 million in 2013, and he certainly lived up to his price tag during his time in North London.
The German international would go on to make 254 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 44 goals and assisting 72 times.
His tenure at Arsenal was however marred by controversy towards the end of his spell with the club as he found himself frozen out of Mikel Arteta’s squad.
It started when Ozil was excluded from the Europa League squad for the 2019/2020 season by Mikel Arteta.
From then, football was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Ozil would never wear the famous red and white shirt again.
Years since his Arsenal departure and Ozil seems to have made his feelings clear about Arsenal after he was put on the spot by an Arsenal fan.
The fan, who had a jacket with an Arsenal logo, asked Ozil to say "Ya Gunners ya", a popular phrase Ozil used to use in his Twitter hashtags.
According to SportBible, Ozil did not mince his words in his response to the request, saying, "No no, it's not gonna happen."
The fan also seemed unsuccessful in his attempt to get Ozil to sign a Mikel Arteta shirt, but at least he took a photo with the superstar.
