Pep Guardiola says Manchester City midfielder, Barnardo Silva does not stand a chance to win the Ballon d'Or which is regarded as football's biggest individual award.

Silva has been in impeccable form for Manchester City as the Portugal midfielder has been instrumental in the Citizens' pursuit of a third consecutive Premier League trophy this season.

According to a report via the Mirror, Guardiola believes not having enough social presence and scoring lots of goals will count against Silva from winning the Ballon d'Or.

"He is never going to win the Ballon d'Or because you have to be on social media, you have to not just win but score a lot of goals and Bernardo does not have that quality.
"If one day it will happen I would love it, I would be happy for him like any other player that we have here that one day would win the Ballon d'Or."

The Ballon d'Or has been dominated by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo over the past decade with Messi having a total of 7 awards while Ronaldo has emerged as a winner on 5 occasions.

Manchester City is not being pressured by Liverpool's title charge

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has insisted Manchester City are not under any form of pressure from Liverpool as both clubs challenge for the Premier League crown this season.

The Liverpool Echo reports the 51-year-old manager disclosed Man City is keeping close tabs on Liverpool but says all focus will have to be on winning their own games.

Liverpool are just 3 points behind Manchester City with just ten games to the end of the current Premier League campaign to determine the EPL Champions.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Pep Guardiola has hailed Premier League rivals Liverpool claiming that Jurgen Klopp and his men are the toughest opponents he has ever faced in his coaching career.
