Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong has been passed fit to represent Nigeria in this month's crucial World Cup play-offs against Ghana.
Ekong was reported to have picked up an injury that was expected to rule the 28-year-old out of contention the important fixture but has recovered in time to make the trip.
According to a report via Daily Trust, Ekong resumed full training today, March 9 after being cleared by the Watford medical team to make a comeback.
The Watford defender was on Friday, March 4 included in the Super Eagles 32-man roster released by coach Augustine Eguavoen for the crunch World Cup qualifiers against the Black Stars.
Ghana is set to host the Super Eagles in the 20,000 capacity Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25th, with the reverse leg scheduled for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, March 29th.
Eguavoen to make surprise choice as Super Eagles captain
Meanwhile, Nigeria coach, Augustine Eguavoen is reportedly considering making changes to the leadership of the Super Eagles team.
According to the Daily Post, Eguavoen, is set to name a fresh face as the team’s captain for the 2022 World Cup playoffs against Ghana.
Ahmed Musa and William Troost-Ekong have been the captain and vice in recent times for the Nigeria national team but Eguavoen is now considering Moses Simon as his new captain.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Tyronne Ebuehi appears set to miss Nigeria’s World Cup playoffs against Ghana in March after picking up an injury on Sunday, February 20.
The 26-year-old defender was on the pitch for just 30minutes before being subbed off after a knock on his left leg in Venezia’s 1-1 draw against Genoa.
Test results conducted on Ebuehi have now revealed that the Super Eagles defender has a lesion in the semitendinosus muscle of the left leg.
