After enduring disappointment in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon icon Samuel Eto'o is currently enjoying blowing off some steam with friends in his home country.

And having already gone for the inauguration of the 50,000 capacity seater stadium in Diamniadio, Senegal, on Saturday, Eto'o posed for a picture with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Eto’o was seen in the photo all smiles and dressed in a suit while Ngannou donned casually to flaunt his intimidating muscles.

The former Barcelona striker captioned the Instagram picture, Good to see you champ @francisngannou

Ngannou is currently in his hometown in the West African country after he retained the UFC title in January this year after a unanimous points decision win over Cyril Gane.

The current UFC heavyweight champion also shared a picture on Instagram for his fans to see, and he captioned the photo: “The Champion and The Legend”.

Eto'o spends time with Cameroon female national team

Legendary footballer and President of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto'o has met the playing body of the female national team of Cameroon.

The former Barcelona striker who currently heads the Cameroonian Football Federation shared a moment with the Indomitable Lionesses before the Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia.

In photos posted on Twitter, Eto'o is seen interacting with the team as he uncovers challenges faced by women football in Cameroon.

Eto'o features as Fadiga and Okocha score at inauguration of Senegal's new stadium

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nigerian international Jay Jay Okocha was part of the football legends that graced the inauguration of the Diamniadio Olympic Stadium in Dakar, Senegal.

The Senegalese government splashed heavily on a multi-purpose stadium, which can host football, rugby and athletics and they have inaugurated it two weeks after their AFCON glory.

Reports have it that the Teranga Lions will now make the facility their new home ground as it has a capacity of 50,000. It’ll host the 2026 Summer Youth Olympics, Sports Ration say.
