Frank Lampard has explained that he actually signed the duo of Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek for Everton because they are talented players and that he has trust in them.

Recently, those in charge of Premier League side Everton announced the hiring of former Chelsea gaffer Frank Lampard as a replacement for Rafa Benitez who found things difficult at the club.

Everton chiefs were of the view that Frank Lampard would help them get good results this season in the Premier League and other competitions.

Where did Lampard work before joining Everton?

In 2018, Frank Lampard was hired as coach at Derby County where he started his coaching career, and he was at the side for just one year before Chelsea appointed him as a coach.

At Stamford Bridge, Frank Lampard failed to impress and was sacked as Blues' chiefs replaced him with Thomas Tuchel who went on to win the Champions League.

According to the report on Mirror and Manchester Evening, Frank Lampard stated clearly that he wants to change things at Everton which was the reason he signed Dele Alli and Donny.

"In terms of our business with Donny and Dele, they’re separate cases.
"I just look at the player and the person and I had conversations with them both. They’re both very, very talented players.''

Lampard makes bold statement ahead of first game in charge of Everton

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Frank Lampard stated that his newly inherited squad of players are suffering from a lack of confidence as he prepares to take charge of his first game as Everton manager.

Lampard replaced Rafael Benitez who was sacked last month after Everton had just one win in 14 top-flight games with the Spaniard leaving the Merseyside club 16th on the league table.

Speaking in his first news conference as an Everton manager ahead of the Toffees FA Cup tie against Brentford, the former Chelsea coach believes there is enough talent in his squad to turn around the fortunes of Everton.

Frank Lampard also promised to prove all those who still doubt his pedigree as a top-class manager wrong as he embarks on a new challenge with Everton.
