Darpoh, who is originally from Ghana, is squatting with other guys from Ghana who work at salons around the Durban CBD, The Citizen reported.

The publication added that Darpoh was considering leaving football altogether and returning to Ghana if he did not receive any offers from other clubs.

At only 23-years-old, Darpoh still has plenty of years ahead of him. Darpoh started his career as a youngster in Ghana playing for Okwawu United. He then moved to Amazulu in 2016.

He originally started with the reserve team before being promoted to the first team. Darpoh was a mainstay of the Amazulu team while former coach Jozef Vukusic was still in charge. He was then released from the club in 2021.

As KickOff reported, Darpoh explained that he didn’t have much say in his contract being terminated.

"I think you can't really do much or say much when you are not in the coach's plans. He is the boss, and he decides what happens. It wasn't me but rather the club that decided this from the coach's side because I was obviously not in the coach's plans, so we had to come to that agreement, he said when speaking about why Amazulu let him go.

He added that he was originally out of action due to injury but that when he did return, Benni McCarthy had taken over and he was no longer “in the coach’s plans or a favourite of him.”

Coach Benni McCarthy backs Siyethemba Sithebe to play at Amazulu, contradicts club owner Sandile Zungu

Earlier Sports Brief reported on the ongoing news surrounding Siyethemba Sithebe, saying that the midfielder's future at Amazulu remains in doubt as the transfer saga between Amazulu and Kaizer Chiefs rages on.

Sithebe agreed to join the Amakhosi at the end of the current season when his contract with the Usuthu ends, but Amazulu owner Sandile Zungu wasn’t happy with the way the Sowetan club approached the player.

Last week Zungu promised that Sithebe would never wear the Amazulu jersey again while he was at the club, but coach Benni McCarthy has a different take on the matter. According to the Sowetan LIVE, Benni said that the player would be given game time if he gave his all during training.
