Manchester United Striker Arrested on Suspicion of Assault After Girlfriend’s Social Media Post

Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is currently in the police net after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend Harriet Robson, Marca reports.

The girlfriend shared images of her beaten body on her Instagram story and went on to share an audio clip of one of the incidents as well.

Greater Manchester Police responded with a statement on Sunday evening that the incident was confirmed and the United forward has been taken into police custody for investigation.

The statement reads via SPORTbible:

"Greater Manchester Police was made aware earlier today (Sunday 30 January) of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence.
"An investigation was launched and, following enquiries, we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. He remains in custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing.

Social Media users attack Greenwood

Meanwhile, Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been dragged on social media following allegations that he assaulted a young woman.

Social media sites have been flooded with pictures of the young woman and allegations of abuse as internet users have taken to the internet demanding that Mason Greenwood be sent to prison.

Benjamin Mendy regains freedom

Sports Brief earlier reported that Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has regained freedom from a British prison after spending over 4 months in jail.

The 27-year old was granted bail by Judge Patrick Thompson at a private hearing at Chester Crown Court on Friday, January 7.

Mendy had spent his Christmas in prison after he transferred to HMP Manchester, better known as Strangeways from HMP Altcourse, Liverpool due to safety concerns.
