Asamoah Gyan who is a Ghanaian football legend has stated emphatically that the Super Eagles of Nigeria stand the chance of winning the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

It's a week now since African nations converged in Cameroon for the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations in which Algeria are the reigning champions.

At the last edition of the African Cup of Nations in Egypt, Algeria defeated Senegal in the final of the tournament, but they are currently not finding it rosy so far in this year's competition.

Why did Asamoah Gyan rate the Super Eagles and not Ghana?

Asamoah Gyan rated the Super Eagles for the African Cup of Nations title because of their win over Egypt in their first game at the ongoing tournament.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored the goal that condemned Egypt to a defeat in a match that the Nigerian defense kept Mohamed Salah out of the encounter.

“Yes, as of today Nigeria stands out as the team with the will to conquer all oppositions going by what happened in the match against Egypt.

Salah attacks Egypt coach Queiroz after loss to Nigeria in stunning statement

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Mohamed Salah who is the captain of the Egyptian national team slammed his coach Carlos Queiroz after their defeat against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in 2021 AFCON opener.

The Liverpool striker had his wings clipped by the Super Eagles defenders in the encounter against Nigeria as Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal of the game.

Salah tried his best to save Egypt from suffering defeat against Nigeria and even had a chance in the 70th minute to restore parity, but his effort was saved by Maduka Okoye.
