Kenya Premier League outfit Wazito FC have confirmed the departure of Francis Kimanzi as the club’s head coach with immediate effect.
Wazito released a statement on Thursday, January 13 confirming that Kimanzi, along with his coaching staff, had all been fired after a string of poor results.

Youth team coach Fred Ambani will take charge of the team in the coming days until a replacement is found.
Kimanzi famously joined Wazito FC in 2020, shortly after leavening his job as Harambee Stars head coach.
What went wrong for Kimanzi at Wazito?
Alarm bells started ringing on the former Harambee Stars boss’s time at Wazito FC once the 2021/22 Kenya Premier League campaign was underway.
Against the odds, the crypto-backed side currently finds themselves in a relegation battle.
They currently sit third from bottom on the log, having only collected a mere nine points from their opening thirteen games.
Kimanzi’s exit makes him the seventh managerial casualty of Wazito FC in the last two years as owner Ricardo Badoer once again exhibited his revolving door policy.
In the recent past, Ambani, Stewart Hall, Stanley Okumbi, Fred Ouna, Hamisi Abdalla and Melis Medo have also been sacked by the club.
