How much was the Super Bowl bonus for players in 2023?

The 2023 Super Bowl bonus was $157,000 per player for the winning team, while the losing team got $82,000 per player. Since the Chiefs won and the Eagles lost, the two teams took home their respective and deserved amounts which were disbursed after 15 days.

During the 2022 Super Bowl, each team member received a bonus of $150,000, which was $20,000 more than the previous year. The losing team received precisely half of what the champions earned.

Eligibility criteria for receiving the whole or half bonus

Some conditions must be met for players to obtain either full or half of the bonus. According to various online sources, here are the eligibility criteria for receiving the whole or half prize.

Full bonus

Veteran players injured during the regular season were excluded from the team's active or inactive roster and are still under contract when the match is played.

Players on the teams' inactive or active roster at the time it was being played or have been on the roster for at least three previous matches in the regular season or playoffs.

Players who have been on the roster for at least eight previous matches and are not on the teams' active or inactive roster when the game was played either in the playoffs or in the regular season.

Half-bonus

Players on the roster for at least three and at most seven previous regular season or playoff matches were also on the teams' active or inactive roster when it was being played.

Those players not on the teams' active or inactive roster have been on the roster for at least three or at most seven previous matches in the regular season or in the playoffs.

First-year rookies or professional players were injured during the regular season and removed from the teams' active or inactive roster but are still under contract during the Super Bowl match.

How much do Super Bowl refs get paid?

The National Football League has yet to cite the exact figures that refs are paid. Some speculations point between $30,000 and $50,000, although it is likely that the amount that the refs take home is higher than that.
