How does the NBA's All-Star voting work?

The voting process differs from before, when only the media chose the players. Nowadays, there are three voting processes. First, there is fan voting, where the fans account for 50% of the votes for the players. The voting begins on Christman and ends on the fourth Saturday of the following year’s January.

The media members of the NBA vote for their favourite players, and they account for 25% of the total vote. The players also chime in with their votes, accounting for 25%.

How do they pick the NBA's All-Star teams?

The votes are then weighted according to the leaders in the three categories. Two of the players with the most weighted votes then become the captains for the teams and select their starters, and they also get to choose their reserves.
