Liverpool's team kits, colours, and badges

For much of Liverpool's history, its home colours have always been red, from the singlet to the bottoms. However, when the club was founded back in 1892, the players were renowned for their blue and white quartered shirts. They used these colours up until 1896, when the club decided to adopt the city's colour, red.

The city's symbol of the liver bird was adopted as the club's badge in 1901. Although it was not incorporated into the kit immediately, it was later included in 1955. The club's players wore red shirts and white shorts until 1964 when manager Bill Shankly changed it to an all-red look.
