Mr Chippa Mpengesi is the proud owner of Chippa United FC; he purchased the Vodacom League Franchise club known as Mbekwni Cosmos. Amidst the Vodacom League Campaign, Chippa Mpengesi played under Chippa United FC.

It is situated in the Eastern Cape province, Gqeberha. Their first teams played in the National first Divisions. They currently play in the Premier League's Premier Division. Their reserve team plays in the PSL reserve team.

Chippa United FC's coaching staff

Chippa United’s coach, Gavin Hunt, is a former South African footballer who previously managed the Premier soccer league club, The Kaizer Chiefs. He is determined to keep his team up to the task.

Assistant coach Ian Taylor is determined to prove his worth and implement the coach's mandate. However, the technical director position is currently vacant, and the Team Manager, Wanda Mbenguzana, is still exploring his options.

Chippa United FC's achievements are a handful; they have scooped a couple of trophies over the years. They won the NFD Championship consecutively in 2013 and 2014. The Nedbank Cup shamed their rivals in the Second Division National Play-offs in another double action sprint in 2011 and 2012.

In 2010, they closed the curtains at the PSL Promotion/Relegation Play-offs and did it again at the Second Division Western Cape stream. There is a history when it comes to Chippa United FC's trophies.

In their early days, 2009-2014, they mostly used their home ground's stadium based in Cape Town. Their promotion to the Premier Division, Philli stadium was not up to the required standards to host Premier Division matches, so they needed an upgrade. Training was now to be conducted at Gelvandale Stadium.

They also hosted matches at Athlone Stadium as well as Cape Town. During the 2016 season, the club hosted its games in East London's Buffalo City stadium. Then, the club moved to Port Elizabeth and set camp at Wolfson Stadium. Chippa United FC obtained a lease from the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.

The 18 years contract still stands from the 2014-15 season to the 2031- 2032 season.
