Founded in 1962 and managed by the Benin Football Federation, the Benin football team is a football club representing Benin's republic in men's soccer. History

Benin made their debut in the soccer scene in 1959 when they hosted and played their first match against Nigeria. While the team played the game before the country attained independence, Benin has been affiliated with FIFA since 1962 and is a member of the Confederation of African Football.

AFCON campaigns

They debuted in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2004. However, they were eliminated after losing to Morocco, South Africa, and Nigeria three times. During the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, Benin drew against Mozambique, leading to winning the first point in his history at the CAN.
