Robin jumped to Feyenoord's first team, where he enjoyed three great years despite an on-again, off-again spat with the club's manager, Bert van Marwijk. In 2004, Wenger added him to an Arsenal team that had just won the Golden Premier League trophy.

Van Persie returned to his childhood club Feyenoord after scoring just 36 goals in 87 games for the Super Lig squad, and then played there for another year until retiring in 2019.
