The midfielder began his football career at Diambars training school in Senegal, where he spent years learning and perfecting his skills. He then joined Lille, where he rose from the reserves to the senior team during the 2010-2011 season.

Lille (2008-2015)

Idrissa helped Lille clinch the Ligue 1 title in the 2010-11 season. His brilliant performance elevated him to become a regular starter in the league and the UEFA Champions League for the club. His first goal for Lille came in a 2-2 draw with PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Europa League on 17 February 2011.

Aston Villa (2015-2016)
