Batting first, the Lions posted a challenging total of 266 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Van der Dussen top-scored with 81, with Mitchell van Buuren (78), Dominic Hendricks (38) and Bjorn Fortuin (22 not out) the main contributors to the total. Glenton Stuurman was the only noteworthy Warriors bowler, claiming three wickets for 47 runs in 10 overs.

Man-of-the-match Sisanda Magala sent a message to Proteas selectors after being left out of the squad that will face Bangladesh in just over a week. He tore through the Warriors batting lineup, taking six wickets for 55 runs in his 10 overs as the visitors were rifled out for a paltry 106 runs inside 24 overs.

Women's Cricket World Cup: Proteas hold their nerve in tense win over Pakistan

As reported on Sports Brief, the Proteas' bowlers were in top form in ensuring that South Africa remained unbeaten in the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup at the Bay Oval on Friday morning.

South Africa had to sweat to hold off a plucky Pakistan with a six-run victory. Batting first, the Proteas reached 223/9 in 50 overs, before dismissing Pakistan for 217 in 49.5 over.

Laura Wolvaardt's 75 runs and Sune Luus supporting 62 anchored South Africa's innings. The ultra-reliable Chloe Tryon and Trisha Chetty both chipped in with 31 runs each to carry the team to a challenging total.
