  • Anthony Joshua was outclassed in the twelve rounds of his heavyweight title fight with Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk
  • AJ expressed disappointment in his then-manager Rob McCracken, saying he was not informed he was losing the fight
  • The boxer parted ways with McCracken and his team, and now the stage is set for a re-match with Usyk

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has stated that he never knew he was losing his first fight against Ukrainian sensation Oleksandr Usyk.

The British-Nigerian boxer was outmatched over twelve rounds during the fight last September but he stated that his team did not tell him he was losing.

Punch reports that AJ severed ties with manager Rob McCracken and his team after they could not tell him the status of the proceedings during the encounter.

“There was a lot going on in the corner and that didn’t help. A corner is like a pit stop.
“You’ve got probably 55 seconds in total to calm down, hydrate, and simple instructions. That’s the way you should do it. Too many voices at once is definitely not good for anybody.
“I was being told things like, ‘Double jab, right, left hook’ it wasn’t like, ‘Take the fight to this f***er, listen you’re losing the fight’.
“A trainer needs to tap into that psychological aspect now because if you can overcome your mind, you can give more. I swear I thought I was [winning]. "

Wilder tips Usyk to defeat Joshua in re-match

Meanwhile, boxing heavyweight Deontay Wilder has made a huge prediction ahead of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk 2, admitting it will be tough.

Ukrainian sensation Usyk defeated AJ after 12 convincing rounds in September 2021, but a rematch is slated for August 20 and the clash is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, Joshua hopes to set up an undisputed super-fight with Fury, by winning back the unified belts Usyk, 35, snatched off him.

Dillian Whyte claims Tyson Fury is a cheat

Sports Brief earlier reported that Dillian Whyte has insisted Tyson Fury gets away with many things and has accused the Gypsy King of cheating during their WBC heavyweight fight on Saturday, April 23.

Fury had sensationally knocked out Whyte in the sixth round of the bout in front of a 94,000 sell-out Wembley Stadium to retain his WBC heavyweight title.

Whyte has claimed Tyson Fury's fight-winning shot was followed by an "illegal" shove in the sixth round of their world title clash.
