EL K is the son of the baseball Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr. and Riquelma Ramos and nephew of former MLB player Wilton Guerrero. His parents divorced while he was still very young, and they had to co-parent the youngster.

Guerrero would then split the time between Santiago with his mother, Don Gregorio with his uncle Wilton, and the summer in the United States with his father. He used to practice with his uncle Wilton, saying, "I think everything I've learnt in baseball has been from him. I've been practising with him since I was five. He is the one who taught me to practice well."

The player's professional career began in 2015 when he was a free agent and signed a $3.9 million contract with Toronto at 16. At this time, Baseball America ranked him as the top international agent, while MLB.com ranked him the fourth-best.

He made his professional debut with the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays on 23 June. Vladimir went on to play amazingly well that in the four years in the Minor League, he rose to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons.

The star was considered the top prospect in professional baseball and was called to play for the Toronto Blue Jays. In the first season, he batted .272/.339/.433 with 15 home runs and 69 RBI in 464 at-bats. He also hit the ball with the highest exit velocity (118.9 mph) of all balls hit by major league batters in 2019.

During the 2020 season, which was shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic, Guerrero was shifted primarily to playing first base but would still play at third base and designated hitter when necessary.

The 2021 campaign began with a lesser-weight Guerrero, who had lost 42 pounds in a weight loss regimen that started in July 2020. Beginning the season as a primary first baseman and a routine designated hitter, he felt quicker, stronger and more resilient.

The season was pretty good, and he was named to the All-star as the first baseman. He was honoured as the game's MVP and was the first Blue Jays player to win, the first Canadian citizen to win and the youngest All-star MVP at 22, 119 days old. He also won the American League Hank Aaron award and the Tip O'Neill award but finished second in the American League MVP voting in the same season.

Guerrero has been loyal to the Toronto Blue Jays to 2022 and has signed a $7.9 million contract with the team. On 14 September, he hit his 100th career home run, becoming the youngest Blue Jay to do this and the 7th youngest player in MLB to hit 100 home runs and 100 doubles.

Is Vladimir Jr a Hall of Famer?

In December 2021, the Blue Jays slugger was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. During the same year, he and his father, Vladimir Sr, became the second father-son duo in MLB history to each have a 40-Home run season in their careers, joining Cecil and Prince Fielder.

Vladimir Jr is often compared to his dad. However, he makes it clear to the public that he never compares himself to anybody and tries to bring out the best of himself. Vladimir Jr's contract clearly reflects his worth on and off the ball field and remains a sensation, especially to the younger generation.
