Tottenham star sends Eliud Kipchoge special message ahead of Ineos challenge

- Kipchoge will attempt a sub-2:00 marathon in Vienna, Austria, in a special event dubbed The Ineos 1:59 Challenge

- This will be Kipchoge’s second attempt to break the barrier since running 2:00:25 during the Nike Breaking2 event two years ago

- Eric Dier has now joined the growing list of fans backing the marathoner to break the two-hour marathon barrier

Tottenham star Eric Dier contends four-time London Marathon winner Eliud Kipchoge has everything it takes to break the two-hour marathon barrier.

Kipchoge, who is widely regarded as the world’s greatest marathoner will attempt to break the barrier for the second time.

The 34-year-old is set to hit the track on Saturday, October 15, for a chance to make history during a special event dubbed The Ineos 1:59 Challenge in Vienna, Austria.

In May 2017, Kipchoge came close to making history in his first attempt to go sub-two when he clocked 2:00.25 in a specially created event at Monza, Italy.

A year later, he took one minute 18 seconds off the official world record in an astonishing run during the Berlin Marathon, clocking 2:01:39.

And following his famed fourth London Marathon win, the legendary runner has a conviction he can beat all odds to leave a mark in history.

Dier has now taken time to send Kipchoge a message of goodwill ahead of the race, with the Tottenham midfielder reassuring the sprinter of his support.

"Hi, Eliud Kipchoge. I want to wish you all the best in your quest to break the two-hour mark," the Englishman said in a 16-second video shared by Kipchoge.
"I will be supporting you hoping that you can do it. Good luck," he concluded.
