Tobi Amusan's Father Attacks Michael Johnson Over Comment Made on Daughter's Success

Kehinde who is the father of Nigerian star of the moment Tobi Amusan has rubbished talks by retired American sprinter Michael Johnson who questioned the record broken in Oregon.

Tobi Amusan recorded her name in the history books of Athletics by becoming the first Nigerian to win gold at the World Athletics Championship in the United States.

She was so superb in the semifinal race which caught the attention of the whole world and millions of people have been celebrating the success recorded.

But Michael Johnson stated that he does not believe the timing record and this has put the American under serious attack from Nigerians and other fans.

According to the report on News Break citing Punch, Kehinde Amusan explained that Michael Johnson is entitled to his opinion.

Kehinde Amusan's response to Michael Johnson

“You know the western world and how they behave, you should know what they are.
“I feel unconcerned about what he said after the race because God has done what He needs to do. I don’t mind whatever anybody says about the timing, I feel that is how the western world is but they are not God.
“So, he is entitled to his opinion. I won’t take it as an offence because I just believe that’s what these blacks do.”

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how former world record holder in Women’s 100m Hurdles, Kendra Harrison, has congratulated Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan for her feat at the just concluded World Athletics Championships.

Amusan crossed the line in 12.12 seconds to beat Harrison's 2016 world record by 0.08 seconds in the 100 Women’s Hurdles.

Amusan has now become the first Nigerian to set a world record as she further cemented her place in history, winning the gold medal after running a wind-aided 12.06 seconds in the final to win the race.

It was gathered that German sportswear and equipment company Addidas is responsible for kitting both Harrison and Amusan.
