And President Muhammadu Buhari has taken to social media to congratulate the gold medalist, expressing excitement.

He tweeted:

“I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating Tobi Amusan and her stellar performance, at the World Athletics Championships 2022.

Michael Johnson casts doubt over Amusan’s feat

Sports Brief earlier reported that legendary sprinter Michael Johnson has expressed doubts after Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan smashed the world record in the Women's 100m Hurdles event at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United States.

The 25-year-old Nigerian sprinter then bettered her own record in the final when she came first, having crossed the line in 12.05 seconds to win gold at the event.

It was a stunning feat that Michael Johnson, who won four Olympic gold medals and 8 World Championships gold medals in the span of his career, seems to doubt the timing.
